Frustrations

There is nothing more frustrating than having the day off and then spending it doing nothing because no one will go and do anything with you. I live with my younger brother and it is a pain in the rear to try and get him to do anything with me. As soon as one of the guys is down to go though, he's all ready. I have to assume one of two things, either he really doesn't like hanging out with me or he was just lazy that day. The next time this happens I have decided to call him out on it.

In other things, I have decided to work on my New Year's resolutions tonight. I like to figure out exactly what I want to accomplish this coming year and then see how much I actually did. Here was last year's list. The ones in bold are the things I accomplished.

1. Become financially secure.
2. KNOCK SOME MORE STATES OFF MY LIST. (Washington and Hawaii)
3. Find a boyfriend. (I had one but since I lost him I can't fully count this.
4. Own a car. (I have given up on this one.)
5. GO TO MOAB
6. GO TO LAKE POWELL
7. BE HAPPY.
8. Go to Australia. (since I lost my job and ended up moving to Hawaii, obviously this would explain why #1 is also not achieved).
9. EAT HEALTHY, LIMIT FAST FOOD.
10. WORK OUT REGULARLY. (I joined a gym and worked out five days a week and lost a total of  28 pounds)

Also, although these next items were not goals, this is what I did last year as well. These are all things that up until this year I hadn't done or experienced yet.

Went to San Diego by myself.
Went to a Water Park.
Went to Sea World.
Went snorkeling.
Became a couch surfer. (anyone not knowing what this is please check into it.) http://www.couchsurfing.org/
Became pretty decent at snowboarding.
Hiked 10+ medium to hard trails.
Went rafting.
Camped by the ocean.

I'm hoping this year I can put more on that list.

Some Background

In my life I have lived in Michigan, California, Colorado, and now Hawaii. If I stay in one place too long I get antsy and spend hours and days researching other places I NEED to go too. I'm 28, 6'2", single, have a piddly bank account, and really own nothing to my name.

My last boyfriend asked me what my passion was once and at the time I couldn't answer the question since I didn't know. He's also the one who said I was going nowhere. Since that time, I have thought about it constantly and it came to me that my passion is actually NOT having a career but really just doing precisely what I want in life. For me that includes a lot of moving, traveling and outdoor adventures. I really could care less if all I have is $2 in the bank and literally only own clothes. I'm happy and personally I think that's more than a lot of people have. Don't get me wrong. People who have true passion and determination in their pursuit of a career and money are sometimes very admirable. I however think too few people actually take the time to relax and smell the roses so to say. If I ever have grandkids I want to have tons of stories of my explorations and travels, not stories of how I spent my life at a job I hate to make more money.

This blog will be a record of anything and everything I do that continues me on my path of "going nowhere and doing nothing with my life". Considering the new year is just around the corner, I feel now is the appropriate time to start this.
